When an excavation is being reinstated a RITag is buried within it. Data relating to those works is stored within the tag. This data can be entered into the RITag either before or after it has been buried.

Data is programmed via the Psion Walkabout Pro connected to the reader/writer via bluetooth.
It is then stored and locked within the tag for future retrieval/reference. This data matches that held within the National Street Works Register.
The RITag Walkabout Pro is capable of storing data for forwarding on to the client for registration.
Direct registration may also be possible.

Data can be retrieved from the tag by anyone in possession of a reader - i. e.

Works promoters
Street authorities
Service providers/contractors.

RITags are positioned within the reinstatement works in accordance with RITag guidelines to enable quick and easy location.

RITags are placed at a depth such that subsequent resurfacing will not result in loss of the tag.
